Shabby chic

You know how you sometimes create something that you like so much it surprises you? Well, this evening I have :).

I decided to remake the can I use for sugar cubes. I have altered it once already but I stripped it clean and started all over again...

This time I went for shabby chic and if I had any doubts about what I like I don't any more - I love that style!!! Simon says has a shabby chic challenge this week so it fits nicely I think.

I painted the tin can with a ivory/grey acrylic paint, added some crackle paint that I painted lightly over and rubbed all the edges with vintage photo and walnut stain.
I got the roses and rosebuds from Kort og Godt today and the colour was just perfect for this. So I fired away with crackle paint on the vintage sticker, glimmer mist on the roses, crystal glaze on the tag, embossed and distressed vintage book pages, charms, fabric and punched ivory leaves.

Now you can come over for coffee any time ;)

This is what I started out with...
