Allsorts - Oriental

Morning all,
first I've got to say in answer to the questions I got about the banner on the card in previous post: it's a Magnolia stamp from one of last year's club collections that I stamped, embossed and cut out.

Now, this week's theme at Allsorts is set by Amanda and she would like to see a bit of the Orient in your projects. Anything Oriental will do ~ papers, animals, images, flowers whatever you have.

I had some designer paper with oriental signs on so I figured that would do the trick =).

DCD - Wedding

Time for another fortnight with Die Cut Dreams and the challenge is Wedding. This time using the obvious wedding couple from LotV =)

It's been a lovely day today and I've cleaned and oiled both garden patios, put up the pavilion and put out all garden furniture. Summer can come any time now cause I'm ready =).

Another challenge at Stampin for the Weekend and this fortnight the theme is Wedding. I decided to use a LotV stamp but not the obvious wedding one. Instead I took this little cutie and I think it works well.

Was on a lovely daytrip to IKEA with my mum and sister yesterday. Came home with a lot of bits and bobs but nothing that requires a screwdriver - rather nice actually =)

Today I have a card for the Kenny K Krafty Girls challenge Anything goes. It also fits Papertake weekly with Truly dimensional and The ABC Challenge with Sugar and Spice.

DCD - Easter

it's time for another fortnightly challenge at Die Cut Dreams and the theme is Easter. I've used the adorable papers from Pion Design - Fairytale about spring.

Allsorts - anything but a square

This week at Allsorts the challenge is to produce anything but a square. I love those challenges!! I made a card in the form of a dress with a small Hanglar-image as focus point. Didn't want a lot of decorations cause I think the DP is well worth looking at =).



Can't remember where I got the template so I can't give credit where credit is due, but it was a freebie so I've put it below if you want it for personal use.

Stampin for the Weekend has a new fortnight challenge up now and the theme is Easter. The DT made some fantastic work to be inspired by so hurry on over there!

I took an old tin can and gave it a more seasonal look =). With acrylic paint and pretty flowers anything is possible =).

Hello, my name is Ingrid

Hubby asked me to use a beer label as base for a card - and not just any beer label. It's a special edition beer that the Scottish brewery Brew Dog has made together with hubby's dear friend Darren Packman who runs the beer blog Beer Sweden.
Darren went to the brewery with huge amounts of the very Swedish cloudberry in the luggage and they made this India Pale Ale with a touch of cloudberries - the result was absolutely stunning!

It was a bit tricky cause the colours are so strong on the label but I'm quite pleased with the result.And since the theme at Papertake Weekly is Anything goes I'm tossing it in there =).

Free sayings to light up the day

I noticed these sayings on signs in a shop in town and found them absolutely wonderful. But why buy some rather ugly and dull finished product when I could do my own digital versions and make my own signs.

Hopefully I'll come around to that... So I'm posting the sayings here cause
A: I won't lose them
B: you can remind me of actually doing them and
C: maybe they will come in handy for someone and I can get inspiration for free =)

Turning a top into a bag

Found a top stashed away in Amanda's closet that was way too small for her but I just couldn't throw it out - and will all that bling can you blame me? =)



So I took out the scissors and the sewing machine and turned it into a pouch. I thought of keeping it for myself but she saw it when it was done so it now holds her Nintendo game...

Evening,
weather has been fairly good today so I spent some time digging away some snow to make it melt quicker. I am sooo ready for spring, where is it? Why do people live in the northern parts of Sweden voluntarily anyway?

And I made a card for some challenges. Favourite Kenny K image and digi paper from Bearly Mine Design. I started off with twisting the mat behind the image to fit the Bearly Mine sketch properly but it looked wonky so I straightened it up and will call it artistic interpretation =).

Allsorts - blooming blossoms and OMG I've lost August

Morning,
time for another challenge over at Allsorts and the theme this week is Blooming blossoms, shouldn't be much of a struggle for you talented ladies =).

I used a Kenny K image and made my own flowers using a snowflake punch, a Nellie Snellen flower punch and a small star punch and put them all together. Calendar image is my own design, you can pick it up here.
I just noticed now that August is missing from the calendar, obviously a not so important month I must have reasoned =). I have corrected the mistake on the download file =).

Little bits for Rick St Dennis

Rick has created some new digi images that are small, easy to color and related stylaistically so that one or several can be used on a project. It's a new series called Little Bits---in this case Little Bits of SPRING. Be quick cause the series is on sale right now!

Absolutely gorgeous and such a joy to work with. I made some small gift bags that totally melted the hearts of the young daughter and her friends =)







I used this template for the little gift bag. Cut two pieces (and don't do what I did - I was a silly girl and flipped the template over before cutting the second piece out so first attempt went in the bin)
