school bag
I made a school bag yesterday, using the tutorial from Card Oasis - thank you, thank you, thank you Sarah, you rock!
I made it for Amanda's teacher so for the big pocket I made a card looking like a book (with pages from an old children's song book from 1951, and no I didn't rip the book apart, I copied it and distressed the pages to get the old look).
In the small pocket there's a smaller book where I put the names of all the children in the class, one name on each page.
I'm happy with it, so easy to make but looks so extraspecial :)

Backpack
It's been a gorgeous day here, really sunny and warm and I managed to give all my potted plants new soil today. In the afternoon it got a bit cloudy and chilly so I made a backpack (mainly because I didn't want to take responsibility for the laundry). I really like the Maja Design papers with the tiny white flowers, very fresh and with a nice summer feeling.

PB tag
This week's Penny Black challenge is "buttons galore" and I've made a tag to attach to a flower bouquet or a parcel. I actually think it might qualify for the Secret Crafter's "new beginnings" as well since the single candle on the cake means the tag can be used for anniversary gifts (me and hubby are celebrating 10 years of marriage this July, let's hope for his sake he remembers)
Today I went to town cause eight - yes 8 - scrap companies had put their goods up at a local school for a scrap event this weekend. Pittying my poor, neglected garden I had decided not to dedicate this weekend to crafting - other than with garden gloves on - but I never promised myself not to shop today :), so I came home with a new flower punch, more perfect pearls from Tim Holtz, papers (of course) and some bits and bobs from the pearl shop. I had to try it out and decided on the Just Magnolia challenge which is "getting in shape" this week. I made a gift box using the flower punch and the newly purchased flower center part, spraying it with home made glimmer made from the perfect pearls. You can't really tell from the picture but the flower is very sparkly in reality.

new cards
Finally got some time to bury myself in the dungeon again. Made a card for an upcoming birthday and the blue/lilac card is a Postpal card. Both the blue lace paper and the green flowery paper are digipapers and since I recently bought a new printer I wanted to try it out - all excuses for crafting are good excuses =)
And I got the Whiff of Joy summer stamp set yesterday so I'm itching to try those out too...
This card below is also a go for the MDU challenge 12.

renovation
I have been really busy with real life, hence no real blogging for too long. Me and my mum put up new wallpaper in the master bedroom, cause I was really fed up with the lavender wallpaper with a chest-high border with Chinese signs on.
I love the finished result and I absolutely adore the brick wall-lookalike. Even the texture feels real. And on one of the white walls I painted the saying yesterday. I can now totally sympathize with Da Vinci cause painting almost upside down, head leaning backwards in a very odd angle is NO child's play! And I spent a long time at the paint shop trying to explain to them that I wanted a colour for the saying that you could sense when you entered the room, not a colour that's in your face...
But it's done now :)

My first post pal card
After reading about the Post Pal idea and looking at their site I have decided to make cards and send some children to cheer them up. This first card is a combo card, it suits the Just Magnolia stiching challenge, the Magnolia down under Thinking of You-theme, the Colour Create green & blue challenge and the Secret Crafter Saturday challenge that has brads to include this week. Phew! Showing you and then off with the postman it goes.
The background paper is actually an Outlook stationary set printed on cardstock, I love the teddy bears!

my cute chef
This is my take on the sketch from Papertake Weekly. He is such a darling the little chef, but I find him a bit tricky to colour since in my prejudiced world chefs wear white and white is a bummer when colouring. Orange usually isn't my colour but I got the flowers in a goodie bag at the scrap event (I'm the very blond person sitting in the left corner, back to camera - of course) so I sort of built the card around them :).

distressed to my elbows
I've made a card today using my distress ink pads to such an extent that me and the table and the chair and the cat are now glowing with tattered rose and frayed burlap :). I was a bit hesitant about the blue flowers but they're glued now... Everything is sprayed with antique mist - including me and the cat - and I just adore the Maja Design papers that are the foundation. It fits both the Pink Elephant challenge (circles and scallops) and the sketch for Sukkersött this week, yes I'm very organized :)
Oh, and this is the first time I've actually coloured a stamped image with distress inks. Well, not exactly the first time but when I tried it ages ago - before the tombow era - it was messy and icky and runny and horrid. But I kind of managed this time, yey me :).
Yes I know, I only had the energy to decorate one of the insides, I'm totally ashamed and will remedy that if the card gets a receiver.

Stamp something
Back now from the scrap event this weekend - it was fantastic! And I finished quite a few blog challenges. I will give them a post each to make things easier (not for me but... well you know what I mean). First out is Something for mum at Stamp something combined with this weeks challenge at the Secret Crafter where the theme is flowers - how easy can it be ;).
