Birdie nam nam

I'm guessing blogland will be more or less flooded with birdhouses soon, because of the template in the Magnolia Ink magazine...

Nevertheless, here's my take on it, a bit like a gingerbread house with my favourite Christmas treats inside (they won't last all the way to Christmas though).

Morning ladies!
It's Monday so it's time for a new challenge over at Die Cut Dreams. This week it's a colour combo and sketch that was really enjoyable to follow. Hop on over and give it a go!

I made another box and placed the sketch on the inside of the lid. Love these colours together.
And so do the team over at Colour Create cause they have the combo too. :)

And Cupcake craft have Snow much fun this week so I'm tossing this in there too.

Meeting the witches

Yesterday I went to a gathering with the newly started scrap society here in Umea called the Scrap Witches. It was a fun day with scrapping, talking, getting new influences and adding to the stash from the fleamarket that was held.

I managed to get two cards done (well, more or less cause the insides aren't done). The first one was made with a stamp I bargained there and since everything is very distressed - of course - I'm entering it in the Simon says stamp monthly challenge. I actually won some gorgeous Christmas patterned cardstock for that card :)

The other card has images from a cut out pattern from Panduro, the swirl stamp and the glittery thread are also new additions to my horribly growing stash.

Why I didn't bring anything to sell? Cause I don't want to get rid of a single thing :)

birch tree

Finished the cards to attach to the presents when we go to Germany next week. I used Magnolia's birch tree stamp which is perfect since my town is known as the city of birch trees. It fits the Simon says stamp monthly challenge which is distressing and I don't think I've ever done anything without my distress inks :). No rough edges this time though.

On my desk today

Evening,
trying violently to keep the cold away, I'm coughing slightly but trying to ignore it!

Last week my desk was a complete dream, today... not so much :)
I'm preparing some cards to take along next week when me and my collegue are going to Germany to attend a project meeting for a couple of European schools. The project will go on for two years and I'm really excited. I'm hoping it'll be excellent! Next meeting after this will be Italy in the spring (on paid work time, how cool is that!)

Wanted a birch on the cards since Umea is known as the city of birch trees, but it's a bit hard to see in this mess. I'll post a finished card when it is just that... finished :).

CCC ribbons and gems

This box is for Creative Card Crew's challenge ribbons and gems this week. Boxes are so versatile but I can't fill it with chocolate this time cause I'm all out (wonder where it all went...)

The ribbon is kinda obvious, the gems are my liquid pearls. Hope it counts :)

For Jaimie

Blog hopping I read about the horrible thing that happened to Jaimie and her family.

Here is some information about what happened:

"On October 4th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home in a small town in New Hampshire. Alone and sleeping inside were a mother and her 11 year old daughter. These 4 boys broke into this home with the intent to rob and kill anyone inside. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway. It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings."

Our hope is that everyone hopping around today will stop for a moment and think about Jaimie and her father and what life must be like for them now. One moment in time has changed their lives forever. We are asking that everyone reading this message please take a moment to make a card and send it off to Jaimie. You can make something very simple or much more involved, but please share some words of hope and love and let her know that people do care and want the best for her. Please send your card to the address below:
Jaimie Cates
c/o Mont Vernon Fire Station
Main Street
Mont Vernon, NH 03057
United States

I will send her this card. It's rather simple cause I didn't want it to be a "cutie card" and the colours are much better in reality but my camera didn't approve.

Food and drink is the week's mission over at Die Cut Dreams. And in my world chocolate is a very important food group! The other DT's made fabulous contributions!!!

Template to box found here.

Enjoy!

Snowflake

This card today is for Creative Card Crew - snowflake, and for Charizma Cards - no backing paper.

Made it yesterday but didn't get the opportunity to post it cause my elder daughter got a phone call saying that an old classmate of hers from primary and secondary school died last night in a horrible car accident.
Two 17 year olds dead and one 18 year old heavily sedated in intensive care just because the road had a slight bend and the speed was way too high. How pointless...

On my desk today

Read Susie's blog and was sorta redirected to What's on your desk Wednesday so I figured it was a nice Wednesday to show what's on it cause I actually used the entire morning putting up more shelves and tidying so on my desk right now is more or less... nothing! Wow, I'm so impressed with myself, it usually looks like a test site for nuclear arms in my craft room. But today, just look at it!!!

If you look closely where the arrow is you can barely see a stamped and unpainted image that I used to make a card for the pink elephant challenge today where the recipe is black, hardware and distressing. And it also fits Simon says cause it's All that sparkles and I have yet to create something that doesn't ;)

That card is right here. Have a nice day!
