Birthday Card

 I made a very shiny birthday card using my Paul Rubens transparent water colour palette. Background is made with wide overlapping brush strokes and then I embossed the swirl and sentiment in white. The sentiment is on paper painted blue and circle die cut.

CAS purple flowers

 I made a very Clean and Simple card by distressing the background with distress oxides in pink and purple and then stamped and embossed the flowers. Then I took a brush with water and picked up the colour from the petals to get a softer look.

🎄ABC Christmas February ☃️

 I have been asked to join the Design Team at the ABC Christmas Challenge blog and being a Christmas kinda gal I jumped at the opportunity. Thank you ladies for having me! 

So, here is the challenge for February: C is for Clean and Simple and D is for Distressing. And with a little prize from Wilma for a lucky winner.

I made two contributions:

A CAS tag with a background made with alcohol inks and just decorated with a silver snowflake.

And a card with a computer generated sentiment where I crumbled the paper and distressed it with distress ink Old Paper.

 I've had the grand kids over this weekend so I got to sit down in the craft room and breathe a bit now. They're a bit too young to have in here among the inks, and dies and sharp weeding tools. But the older one is four so I think I might have to set up a small work space for him very soon :)

I made a rather large card today, it's A5 size, but it shows of the Lavinia stamps wonderfully. Using the Lavinia stencil and a soft colour gives a nice and lively background and I wanted to use a stencil cause of the prizes at We love stamping :). Not that I'm very likely to win since I don't live in the UK but a girl can dream.

Frosty flowers

 The weather today truly is frightful, it's a regular snow storm going on. Thank goodness I work from home, and the dog looks at me like I'm mad when I want him to step out for a walkie. 

So it feels suitable to post a card with a frosty feel to it. Background made with a stencil and some silver acrylic paint.

As you like it - Favourite true love:well, that is my Winsor&Newton iridescent water color medium. I use it for everything; to get a shine to flowers like in this card, I mix it with distress inks to get shiny colours when painting images, I dab edges with it, I mix it with water to get a sheer, glossy effect. I absolutely love it and can't imagine crafting without it.

Baby bunny tag

 I'm on a roll here, just finished a tag for a new baby. Sentiment is a print and cut I made in Silhouette studio. 

I use a really inexpensive roll of tape that is used by painters to cover door frames and such. It is transparant enough and is very easy to remove from the paper or cardstock, I love it. 

That way I can stamp the image first, then mask it and use distress inks for the background, and finally colour the image.
