Soon it's 2013 and my summary of 2012 cards and projects is as follows:
And I'm so happy that I can start the new year with a brand new printer that takes my Canson Montval 200 g aquarelle paper and is perfect for distress inks and distress markers, never smudges at all. It's a Samsung CLP 365 and it's brilliant =).
I love the Internet! Cause that means I can sit up here in the deep snow of northern Sweden and fanatically follow Eastenders AND watch Call the Midwife Christmas Special AND Downton Abbey Christmas Special. It's been a lovely boxing day =). And my card today is for a relative who's birthday was yesterday but we're going there in January.
I will blame Christmas preparations for not posting this this morning. But here it is now =) At Allsorts the theme is It's as plain as black and white and I used these gorgeous dies from Marianne Design to finish this card (both the background frame and the christmas tree). Very clean and simple but it has an elegant touch to it - and not a coloured image in sight, scary for being me =).
Today it's last day in school before Christmas and time for not one but two new challenges - life is good =).Stampin for the Weekendhas themed the last challenge for this year Anything goes, easy enough =).
AndSparkle and Glitter with Rick St Dennis has Last minute shopping. I used his image Euro girl Helene, a digital image he made with me in mind =). The blond curls and high heels are spot on =), he's simply genious! So a gift bag for Last minute shopping.
Morning, today the challenge at Allsorts is Oh Christmas Tree. My humble contribution is very clean and simple, embossed the tree on white card, distressed the edges and added a ribbon.
Morning, it's time for me to host a new challenge atAllsortsand I've chosen the colour scheme white, gold and one other colour. I used a sponsor image that I embossed. Embossing a digistamp takes a bit of time, first I used an embossing pen on the printed image, sprinkled the powder and then heated it. But well worth the effort. Of course it's easier with a regular stamp but a digi is what I had to work with so ... The flowers from WO made a nice effect I think.
Morning, it's time for another challenge at Stampin for the Weekend and the theme is - very suiting for this part of the world =) - Let it snow! And I love the whimsy snowflakes!
Wow, it snowed loads last night so the dog went absolutely bonkers this morning huffing and puffing in all the white powder :) We need to go out soon cause the wee one has gymnastics practise but not quite yet though. I have a tag for you this morning for a couple of challenges.
I've been looking in some trendy design boutiques but I'm way too cheap to buy one of their - gorgeous of course but still... - candle light holders and pay out of my nose for it. So I decided to make my own. I bought a couple of odd holders at a second hand shop. Unfortunately I forgot to take a before-photo but I can assure you it wasn't a pretty sight, one was bright yellow, one was red, one was in green glass... well, you know... And then I painted them all white, glued them to a tray - that I also painted white - and put some deco stones for stability (and looks of course). And voila, the candle light holder cost me £4.
Closing in on December now and best start preparing for the most wonderful time of the year =). At Allsorts we have a challenge for you to bring on the bling and that can't be hard, now can it? I have made some simple gift tags using a stamp from our sponsor Flonz stamps that I embossed to make the tags blingy.
It's time for another challenge at Stampin for the Weekend and the theme is Add something with texture (lace, cheesecloth, tulle, fabric, embossing, flowers etc) My project is a bit different for being me =), it's a tag made with metal tape, adding lace and a flower using a TH die. But lots of texture it is =)
Yesterday's scrap event was really nice. Of course I didn't achieve much but I shopped and I ate and I had a good time. But I managed to enter one challenge there and it was to be inspired by the hexagon shape, and I won, yey me! =)
Today I'm spending the entire day at a scrap event, bliss!! So this post is scheduled, I've flirted loads with Mr Blogger so I'm sure it will work splendidly =) The theme at Allsortsis it's a gift so I made a gift box for a collegue just cause she's absolutely awesome, no other reason needed. Have a wonderful Saturday!
