Allsorts - hearts

This time at Allsorts I'm hosting the challenge and I want you to use a heart on your project. And mind you - hearts on the backing paper doesn't count! It has to be a heart with a purpose =).

I used a chipboard heart that I covered with DP from Tim Holtz, faux stitches and distressed edges. The image is an old Magnolia favourite =).

This week at Allsorts the theme is Celebration of Nations. It can be flag colours or a tribute to your favourite country =). I chose an image by Thomas Kinkade, a truly talented artist that makes the most fantastic paintings, sometimes featuring the American flag, very suitable for this challenge =). This image is from a desk calendar which means I have 364 more images to choose from =). No, on second thought, I used an image for a birthday card for my dad last summer so there's only 363 left...

SFTW - Out with the Old

This first challenge for Stampin for the Weekend this year is Out with the old.
Use what was in your stash last year, so technically you can use something you got as a Christmas gift but we'd really like to see you use some of that stuff that's been hanging around for awhile.

I decided on an old Magnolia image and some backing paper from Tim Holtz shabby vintage stack. It resulted in a door sign for my sister.

Allsorts - Paper piecing

First challenge for 2012 at Allsorts is paper piecing. I used some dp I got from a dear friend for Christmas, the paper is used both as background paper and for the dress and head piece on the image. The apron is mounted with some glue dots to give it dimension.

The stitched edge is made with a sew easy tool, another Christmas present from a scrapping friend.

There's a new challenge called Lili's Little Fairies and their first challenge is new beginnings. I just had to participate =)

I chose to use a baby stamp I bought before Christmas together with the embossing folder that arrived in the mail today =). I've seen it and drooled over it since I saw it on Debby's blog and now I finally have one of my own, yey!

Last minute Christmas gift

I made hand scrub and body scrub today and filled some jars - extra decorated of course =) - to give away for Christmas. The hand scrub is so good, a dream for crafter's hands, even distress stains vanish, and the body scrub smells absolutely delicious. (A word of warning though, I used it in the shower this evening and the puppy went absolutely bananas when I came into the kitchen, I thought he was gonna eat me alive, haha )

The scrubs are so easy to make - and you probably have all you need in the kitchen already =)

Hand scrub:
mix 2½ cups of sugar, 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil and 4 tablespoons of lemon juice.

Body scrub:
mix 2 cups of brown sugar, 1 cup of regular sugar, 1 cup of sunflower oil and 1 tablespoon of vanilla aroma.

Our baby came home to us yesterday evening, a Lancashire Heeler boy that we call Socrates - Sokke for short. The cats are not all that amused but they'll come around eventually =).

He's like a sausage on legs and absolutely adorable!!

This weeks new theme At Allsorts is "It Takes Two", use only two colours on your creation, although you can also use white as your base colour.

So, together with my base colour I chose red and gold. The image is Penny Black and I embossed regular red cardstock with gold embossing powder and made an accordion flower. It made a pretty ornament for the Christmas tree.

Now this fortnight is a bit special for us here at Die Cut Dreams because not only do we have our beloved Boss Lady Susie Sugar back with us after her house move, the Die Cut Dreams shop has re-opened and the Challenge blog has also surpassed 700 followers - how cool is that??

Allsorts - anything but square

This week at Allsorts we want you do create something that is anything but square. I made a gift box to put a necklace in, this one is to a beautiful baby girl as a christening gift.

Image is Hanglar, coloured with Dusty Concord. Two cuts in the paper made the necklace stay in place and I lifted it up slightly with a paper fold on the back to make it tilt.

Went to buy a chair to my craft table - it was sold out - but I can't stand going home empty handed so I went to Biltema and bought a trolley, you know the kind you can use for grocery shopping. And I bought a plastic shelf with three plastic boxes. Hubby wondered what I was doing, "it's a project" I answered and got a sigh in return =).

It's not that I'm cheap - well perhaps a little =)! Anyway, I tore away the bag thingy from the trolley and the wheels from the shelf, sewed a cover for the boxes and now I have a perfect case for going to scrap events - at a fraction of what a Crop in Style cost. Yey!

I used a mini-Tilda with heart, and used shrink plastic to make a charm using the same stamp. The bag is perfectly sized for a Littlest Pet shop figure and the wee one is going to a birthday party on Sunday - gosh what a coincidence ;)

Afternoon,
today I've altered a tissue box for a challenge at Pysseltagen. I've masked in a Magnolia image in a spellbinder label 10 together with a frame stamp from Waltzing mouse stamps. Design paper from Tim Holtz and flowers from I am Roses. The box on the side can hold a box of cough drops or some tea bags.

This fortnight at Die Cut Dreams we want you to use brown, pink and cream on your projects. I know it's a favourite combo for lots of crafters, me included =).

The Sarah Kay images are like made for these colours so I used this little cutie and then I punched - alot =). I like the fact that you can fold in the flaps on the MS punches and then punch again inside the frame. The front sentiment can be found here. DP from Pion design.

And it's also my last week as guest designer for Countryscrap and the napkin fold card goes in pretty much the same colours =) but the DP is Melissa Frances 5th Avenue.

Clean and simple is just not up my alley so when I learned that it would be this week's challenge at Allsorts I nearly panicked...

And then I decided to cheat =), well not exactly cheat but a bottle tag can be made with less elements and the designer paper was just the right shape to make it look like a complete motif in itself. So with some punched flowers (using the back of the DP) and a ribbon I was done, phew!

I'm sure it won't be a challenge at all for you guys, you'll create gorgeous projects and I'll be very, very jealous!

this is my second post today and also my second week as guest designer for Countryscrap. This time I have made a corset bag using a template from Card carousel and DP from Tim Holtz. (I enlarged the template from A4 to A3 cause that was a better size for me.) I really enjoyed doing this and it's a perfect gift =)

I decorated a small tin can using paper from Melissa Frances, lace from Panduro, a die cut key from Magnolia and some ribbon I found in the drawer. It's rather small so it's good for keeping pills or vitamins in. The last picture is the can in it's original state - hidious isn't it =).

Making boxes is something I really enjoy so making a DT contribution to Die Cut Dreams this fortnight was sheer pleasure (not that it's unpleasant other weeks but... you know what I mean) cause the theme is make a gift box or bag.

I really like the Kenny K-image and it worked so well with the softness of the box. Can't wait to see all your boxes and bags cause I'm always on the lookout for foldings and inspiration.

More tin foil tape

This is what I've been doing this weekend - playing with my aluminium tape =). When dabbing on black acrylic paint and some copper paste that I bought yesterday it really gets this old and rusty look - me likey!!!

And this is what happens when you put a diecut in an embossing folder and run it through the cuttlebug =). I think I'll have to do some hinges now...

Like always I'm probably the last one to hear about it... but this aluminium foil tape is soooo cool. Check it out here. Got a roll from the hardware store yesterday (Biltema).
Started with this old can that I glued thickers to.

Covered the can with the tape and gently filled out the contours around the letters. I wanted to rub in some acrylic paint to give a rougher surface but I'm all out of black.

Made a small tag as well - tiny foam letters covered with the tape.

Showing my space - in all its chaotic splendor =)

I know I should wait for WoywW but this isn't just my desk, it's my entire craft space. I'd love to have an all white room with shelves and cupboards from IKEA but until that day this is what I have =). I love to look at other people's places to get ideas on what to improve around here so if you're up for it, show your space regardless of how it looks. Women has a tendency to be very self-conscious and go "oh, no, I'll have to clean up first"... does it look like I've cleaned the place? Nah!

Nr 1 here I collect all paper scraps sorted by colour so it's easy to find a small piece when needed.

Nr 2 here are my stamps in CD-cases. Wooded ones in the white top drawer.

Nr 3 all my flowers in plastic boxes

Nr 4 two computer screens cause I'm a total geek. I can play WoW and check my blog at the same time ;)
Nr 5 my Distress Ink-storage with the pads fastened with velcro on home-made wooden cubes. They used to be sorted alfabetically, that's all over now =)

Nr 6 my beloved daylight lamp. How did I craft without it?

Nr 7 my home-made light tent that I use to take all the photos

Nr 8 my paper storage. I bought two old post sorting shelves and just put simple extra shelves to get two paper packs on each shelf. It's hidious but functional =).

I made a heartshaped basket (tutorial) using the gorgeous papers from Pion Design, lots of lace, a punch from MS and flowers from IamRoses.

this week at Allsorts it's my turn to host the challenge and I want you to make a red card (well, it doesn't have to be a card, it can be a layout, a box or an altered item but the main colour has to be red).

I'm not saying you have to get started on your Christmas projects - although it's never too early to start hehe...
No, just make sure the main colour of your project is red.

This is my contribution to the challenge, and is it a Christmas card or isn't it? Well, you be the judge of that =)

Made my own backing paper by stamping with Aged Mahogany on white paper. Framed the Magnolia image with a gelatin sheet so no rain on this card please =)

Second post today, it's cause we're going to my mother-in-law in the south of Sweden tomorrow and computer access might be thin. But on the bright side she lives just a couple of miles from the Magnolia store in Borås and hubby promised I could spend a day there - all alone =). Yey!!

So the creation today is an altered bottle using a Hanglar image and paper from Pion design.

This fortnight at Die Cut Dreams the theme is Holiday fun.

I used a LotV image and some TH designer papers. The flowers were made using ordinary white paper that I put glue on and sprinkled some sand over. Same with the diecut sentiment. Rather neat effect =)

this is my contribution to this fortnights challenge at Die Cut Dreams where the theme is Animal antics. If you're joining in, please remember that the animals must have four legs (so sorry, no butterflies hehe).

I found this image in my image box, coloured and all, so I figured I'd just use it and finish a card, can't have too many Christmas cards anyway =). The little circle sentiment is from Lynne, isn't it just adorable.

Allsorts is still running the free and easy theme and this week I chose to make a card with a rather fancy fold, tutorial here. The DCWV Linen closet paper pack is still going strong and I love using it to get a short brake from all pink =). The Penny Black stamp is a cutie and so easy to colour.

Today it's a bit cloudy so I have spent a while finishing a box to enter the Kenny K anniversary blog hop. I used a spellbinder die for lid and bottom, dp from Tim Holtz and some flowers from I am Roses.

It also fits One Stop Craft Challenge, they have Summer as a theme, Shabby Tea room with Flower Power and Charizma card, they have All about flowers.

Another week at Allsorts and another free and easy theme. This time I chose to make a soft card without colouring. It's actually the first time I have ever used that stamp, found it in a drawer - still in plastic. Shame on me!

Today I have a card made for a couple of challenges. I have used the format 12x16 cm on the card, a really easy size to work with (and smaller card means less postal fee hehe).

Oldie but a goldie, Papertake Weekly and Sir Stampalot challenge have Anything goes, Bunny Zoe challenge has fairies and Simon says stamp and A spoon full of sugar have stitching.

And July is a month of celebration in our family as you might have seen, so I've put together a small packet with inks, paper lace, stamps and charms. If you want it, put your name in Mr Linky below and I'll draw a winner after the weekend.

Today my baby turns 20 (gosh, I feel so old)!
And today it's time for another challenge at Die Cut Dreams and this time with a recipe: 3 shapes, 2 colours, 1 ribbon. I altered a tissue box and tried to keep it rather clean and simple. I bought the tissue boxes in a pair so maybe I'll go crazy and really bling the other one up =)

this week at Allsorts the challenge is one for the boys using 1 dp, 2 diecuts and 3 buttons.

I used a dp I won at a scrapevent a while back, together with this Magnolia stamp and tag with a diecut swirl and butterfly. You can at least see two of the three buttons - but they're all there =).

I totally enjoyed hopping around to look at all the wonderful contributions to my Stamp a lot challenge at Allsorts last week - or at least I did until Blogger more or less broke down... , but now it's Deb's turn and she chose Teddy Bears picnic for her theme.

We got some images from our sponsor and I made flower sticks for my garden. Backing paper is plain white paper that I coloured with distress ink stamp pads and embossed with an embossing folder. The ribbon I just twisted and fastened at the end with a glue dot to hold in place. A nice effect in my humble opinion.

Haven't had time - or memory =) - to do this in ages but I have a moment now LOL

This is my desk this morning, yesterday I sat with the invitations to my daughter's graduation party, yes, they are upside down I know =)

The paper in the middle of the desk is a downright failure of an attempt to mix blue and red (a really wonky combination in my humble opinion) so it's back to the drawing board...
