Allsorts challenge 41

This week at Allsorts the challenge is set by Emma and she chose to make a card/gift for Mother's Day or for someone who is like a mum to you.

We have a new Sponsor My Favourite things. They are offering the winner a $15 voucher to spend in the store.

The design team were supposed to use things from the sponsor but I'm a newbie so I totally missed that... sorry :(

Anyway, I made a chocolate bar wrapping for mum.

Simon says vintage

Vintage with flowers - what a fantastic theme this week at Simon says challenge!!!

I have made a card for a collegue at work who had a baby daughter yesterday (I love the fact that I actually had an old bookpage with February 25 - the birth date). I also adore the Coco bear from Digi stamp boutique.

Inside says: Welcome little you (I have no idea what happened to the light in this picture)

I made the Sugar Nellie Tuesday Spotlight!

Featured on Sugar Nellie Tuesday Spotlight! What can I say... it's... Wow! It just blows me away!!

I have a lemonade recipe that is so swift and easy and the family loves it so I made a recipe card for it to make sure it's not forgotten or lost ;).

Computer generated sentiment and distress ink (mustard seed) all over the place. The ornament thingies are actually made with a corner punch, a little work but I think it's well worth it :)

I'm entering ABC challenge - O is for one paper and A Spoon full of Sugar - use distress inks, glitter and pearls.

DCD challenge

This weeks challenge theme at Die Cut Dreams is a nice easy one for you its

EASTER

The Prize this week is two packs of these fabulous easter stickers

I made a bottle tag and used my all time favourite stamp - that I actually don't own so I have to rely on a quickly diminishing stock of stamped images :(
Painted and distressed with Antique Linen. The eggs and the Easter signs (masked from a bigger stamp) is a gift from the amazing Vikki *hugs*.

This one works for A spoon full of Sugar and Stamp something too since they have Spring as their theme. And for Bizzy Becs Creatalicious challenge that has A little something.

Allsorts DT

So what is the challenge at Allsorts this week .. .. .. ... well we would like to see one of the following on your creation:

A tag, a ticket or a label

The winner this week will get 3 free stamps of choice from:

Unfortunately I didn't have one of the images to use but I did make a project with a tag on:

A gable box I found the template for on the net somewhere (way back, can't remember from where unfortunately) and with the gorgeous little Swiss pixie image that is such a delight to colour.

You all have a nice evening now.

Friday sketch

I embossed some vintage swirls (new toy, new toy) on the DCVW backing paper. Added paper from MME and tilted over the sketch from Friday sketchers. The oval on the sketch was probably thought for a sentiment but it didn't specifically say so I put the image there - naughty me ;)
The flowers are white but I distressed them with tattered rose to match the papers.

Whiff of Joy has pearls and swirls this week

A spoon full of Sugar has spring and so do Stamp Something.

SFTW sketch

Morning,

it's time for another challenge at Stampin for the Weekend and Di has made an awesome sketch for you to follow. She is also giving five of her fantastic digi images to the winner of this challenge.

I made a card using a Motivet image, paper from K&Co, flowers from Kort og Godt and loads of distressing.

Vintage powder!

Today I have been very productive - but I can't show you any of it since it's all DT work =)

But then I went to my local craft store and treated myself to some new punches and just HAD to try them...

And...

You know when you buy something on a whim, it's like it slips into your basket by mistake and then you find that it's the one thing you just can't be without ever again? Well, I just found that today. Reprint's vintage embossing powder. Not brown but almost, not gold but almost, not transparent but almost. And 100 % heaven!!

So I made this card using Charizma Cards sketch. I used my Hänglar image, Wild Asparagus papers, my new MS punch and embossed swirls with... you guessed it ;)

I'm also adding it to A spoon full of sugar - theme Spring - cause these are the colours here when the snow start to melt ;)

And to Cute Card Thursday - theme metal - with my flower centre.

And this evening I went to see the Princess and the Frog with my youngest. If you haven't seen it yet - do! The music is awesome!! Don't have kids? Grab a neighbour's!

Get well

Today's card is made for a collegue at work. I went for the vintage look on this one. Tore the cardstock, put some paper with print from the Bible behind and drenched it in crackle paint (did the same on the punched out flowers). Stamped and distressed the heart image behind the Sugar Nellie image and put some ribbon around it. Sentiment is from JustRite.

As for challenges I aim for:

Simon says Stamp - 3 embellishments (ribbon, flowers, heart), 2 papers (1 with Bible print, 1 cardstock) and 1 image.

Creative Card Crew - get well soon

The Pink elephant - ribbon

ABC challenge - O is for one paper

Colour Create challenge - red, white/off white, brown, pink

New Hanglar

I got this little cutie in the mailbox yesterday, from Hanglar's spring collection.

Since the little one liked it too I decided to create a new door sign for her room. Mostly because she said just the other day: "Mum, since you made my door sign when you didn't have a lot of crafting products - and now you have plenty! - don't you think you should upgrade it. It's not very advanced you know..."
Bless her ;)

Throwing it in to the following challenges:

Simon Says Challenge - what's love got to do with it (many hearts and to my loved one)

ABC - N is for new (my brand new stamp)

Stamp Something - something cute (well, I think it is)

Cute Card Thursday - In the name of love (well... *smile*)

OCC - something old but never used ( I dug up this old and dusty Quickutz ribbon slider)

Have a lovely day. Today it's Shrove Tuesday here so my sister is coming over with semlor (cardamom buns stuffed with almond and whipped cream) later on. Mmmmmm!!

DCD recipe

This week's challenge theme at Die Cut Dreams is a recipe set by our Vikki.

3 x different patterned papers
2 x flowers
+ added option of using gems

The Prize this week is the same kit that Vikki provided the DT with as seen in the photo below

I added another month to my birthday calendar and since the colours are so very "spring" I chose the month of May.

The challenge this week is a recipe of 3, 2, 1 and I have 3 flowers, 2 charms and 1 tag on this little giftbag shaped as a baby shoe.

Thank you so much for your visit.

Sugar bowl

There's a fantastic sketch at Sugar bowl this week. Below is my entry. I used my newly bought DP:s (wild asparagus) and the supercute Chef Hamish stamp. I totally love the keyhole and key brads so I got the option for three flowers, one button and two brads right =)

Atm I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the main header picture back on my blog... :(

I wanted three columns instead of two and after I changed the template the picture just won't show. I've added it, ticked the box for in front of text, saved all but nope. Bad Blogger!!

Die cut dreams challenge

Morning,
today it's Monday so it's time for another challenge over at Die Cut Dreams.

This weeks challenge theme is Have A Heart
This week we have a super sponsor who is the lovely Roberta from Prairie Fairy Designs. Roberta is offering the winner of this week's challenge a selection of any 3 digital stamps from her store!!

I used the cupid cat and made a candy box for Valentine's. Just an ordinary pizza box pattern with DP with rough edges, some stamping, crackle paint, ribbon and a handle from Kort og Godt. Sentiment is computer generated.

Anya recycling

Yesterday when I made the woven basket I got some brick-formed scraps as leftovers. Since the DP is from the Luxury stack I couldn't bare to throw them away. So I glued them to a white paper and made a brick wall out of them. It's not that I'm cheap, I'm just financially aware ;)

I used the sketch from Nettan's monthly sketch contest and it also works for Anyone for Anya cause they have Good enough to eat (food colour combo) and I chose chocolate with whipped cream.
Allsorts have Get Distressed with button/s and a bow and Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge have monochrome tones and white.

Just magnolia basket

Just Magnolia has a monthly tutorial challenge and this time it was to make a woven basket. Had to give it a go! More places to keep goodies makes Helene a soon-to-be-diabetic... but it can't be helped, it was so cute and it's a fantastic tutorial!

Goodies

My confidence got a real boost yesterday. First I got a spotlight on Digital Doodlings here and then I won January's sketch competition at my local scrap shop here. The great part about the sketch competition is that the winner isn't drawn randomly, the amazing DT girls vote for the best contribution **very proud now**. And it's a welcome addition of 250 SEK (21 GBP) to shop for in the store, hehe.

Today I made a gift bag by using a bag I bought chocolate in at an airport in Germany before Christmas (never throw anything away!).

I just ripped it apart and drew a new one on a piece of cardstock. There is no template, there are no measurements cause they are all messed up, truly sorry ladies!

But this is what I did.

Copied the lines on a cardstock, cut and folded.

Put sticky strip in the corners.

Fastened the sticky strip on the inside of the bag to form the bottom. Looks weird, I know.

Now you can see the bottom... Filled a cello bag with my favourite tea (rooibos with champagne, strawberry and vanilla, mmm) and stapled it to the back.

And this is the front, stamped, distressed and crackle painted.

This is for Creative Inspirations (pink and cream), Creative Card Crew (Valentine), Papertake Weekly (Love actually), ABC challenge (N is for new stash)

onsdag 3 februari 2010

Cracked image

At the brand spanking new ABC tutorial blog the challenge is to make a cracked image - such a cool effect!! I used my first ever House Mouse image so it qualifies for N is for New stash on the regular ABC challenge blog.

Giftbags for my girls

I was so inspired by Nancy's latest post I just had to do gift bags, so I made two (for my gorgeous girls on Valentine's).

The pink one has a digi freebie from Digital Doodling. Adorable isn't she? And on the green bag I have the mini Magnolia stamp from the winter kit. I had to use that since I really wanted to use the sketch from Mojo Monday - and using a sketch on these small bags are not a walk in the park, trust me!

Challenges I'm aiming for:

Creative Card Crew - Valentine
Mojo Monday - sketch
Papertake Weekly - love actually
Pink Elephant - pink
Cute Card Thursday - blooming gorgeous
Sophisticat Challenge - love
Digital Tuesday - different fold

Tearing down the place

We've hired a carpenter this Thursday (a friend of my sister's) to come and chop down a wall between the livingroom and the guest room to create a bigger living room where I can have a dining table.

Of course the rooms have different floor and different wallpaper so I will have to redo all of it - including painting the ceiling, mending and painting all walls, putting in new floor, and figure out what to do with the wardrobe in the guestroom that will become a wardrobe in the living room...

Right now all the furniture - and the wee one's most precious item (the TV) is stacked upp randomly in a corner. God only knows for how long... I pulled out all the cables from the TV, the digital box, the Wii, the DVD and now I can't put them back together. Are you surprised? I'm not. The little one will be bananas and we can't fix it until daddy comes home on Thursday evening.
Wish me luck!

This is home, crappy home right now =)
