ABC challenge

I started this card yesterday before hubby came and picked me up from the scrap gathering. Finished it today and thought I might enter it in ABC:s challenge I is for indigo. I really don't have a clue if it's indigo, but it's blue... And in Bizzy Becs Creatalicious challenge because of the snowflake and sparkles. And of course I'm entering in Whiff of Joy's challenge because of the choice of stamp. This week the challenge is to make a Christmas card.

Scrappin Saturday

Today I've been to a gathering for enthusiastic scrappers, hosted by Scrapbooking4you. It was a day of fun and laughter, great food and entertainment. I had a blast but didn't create much - of course =). I did manage the card below though and I thought I'd enter it in CCC:s challenge favourite things since the punch and the ribbon and sparkles and Christmas are my favourite things, and in Simon says' challenge for Winter love since love is red in my world =).

advent calendar

I've made an Advent calendar for my girls and today I've managed to find a few challenges to enter it into. First is Secret Crafter Saturday challenge -calendar, goes without saying, then it's Simon says Stamp - animals so my bear works. Creatalicious has something for Christmas and it surely is, ABC challenge has H for Hidden and the chocolate is very hidden :) , the colour combo at Our Creative Corner and finally it's Creative Card Crew that has strings attached and since all handles on the drawers are made of ribbon...

It was really fun to do but the folding of all the boxes took a while.

There are loads of tutorials for this on the net, I wanted a small one though cause many of them have rather large drawers. So I used:

Box 6 x 12,5 cm
Score at 1,5 cm, 5,5 cm, 7 cm and 11 cm

Drawer 6,6 x 8,6 cm
Score at 1,4 cm from all four sides.

Glue the boxes together three by three and then place them in a square.
Make a top and bottom from cardboard, measuring 12 x 12 cm.

I made a very pretty picture to show more clearly but I can't really figure out how to attach a pdf document in Blogger =(

Christmas lights

Christmas is just around the corner now and I've started looking over some of our decorations. I wanted some new lights so I bought this five-branched candlestick. It was dirt cheap (and so it should be cause it's not the prettiest and most exciting one around) :)

But after painting it, stamping it, distressing it and decorating it with flowers, ribbons, sparkles and a tiny Whiff of Joy charm it's ready for my living room. :)

It's also ready for the challenge over at Whiff of Joy with the colour combo brown, orange and ivory and it suits the Creatalicious challenge with something for Christmas.

DCD challenge

Guten Tag!

I'm back from Neumarkt where I had a fabulous time. Lots of bratwurst and lots of beer and fantastic company :)

This week's challenge over at Die Cut Dreams is Santa Claus and my contribution is a box of chocolates - what else ;). The image I got from a friend at work and it was perfect for this.
Do hop on over to DCD and join!

Birdie nam nam

I'm guessing blogland will be more or less flooded with birdhouses soon, because of the template in the Magnolia Ink magazine...

Nevertheless, here's my take on it, a bit like a gingerbread house with my favourite Christmas treats inside (they won't last all the way to Christmas though).

Morning ladies!
It's Monday so it's time for a new challenge over at Die Cut Dreams. This week it's a colour combo and sketch that was really enjoyable to follow. Hop on over and give it a go!

I made another box and placed the sketch on the inside of the lid. Love these colours together.
And so do the team over at Colour Create cause they have the combo too. :)

And Cupcake craft have Snow much fun this week so I'm tossing this in there too.

Meeting the witches

Yesterday I went to a gathering with the newly started scrap society here in Umea called the Scrap Witches. It was a fun day with scrapping, talking, getting new influences and adding to the stash from the fleamarket that was held.

I managed to get two cards done (well, more or less cause the insides aren't done). The first one was made with a stamp I bargained there and since everything is very distressed - of course - I'm entering it in the Simon says stamp monthly challenge. I actually won some gorgeous Christmas patterned cardstock for that card :)

The other card has images from a cut out pattern from Panduro, the swirl stamp and the glittery thread are also new additions to my horribly growing stash.

Why I didn't bring anything to sell? Cause I don't want to get rid of a single thing :)

birch tree

Finished the cards to attach to the presents when we go to Germany next week. I used Magnolia's birch tree stamp which is perfect since my town is known as the city of birch trees. It fits the Simon says stamp monthly challenge which is distressing and I don't think I've ever done anything without my distress inks :). No rough edges this time though.

On my desk today

Evening,
trying violently to keep the cold away, I'm coughing slightly but trying to ignore it!

Last week my desk was a complete dream, today... not so much :)
I'm preparing some cards to take along next week when me and my collegue are going to Germany to attend a project meeting for a couple of European schools. The project will go on for two years and I'm really excited. I'm hoping it'll be excellent! Next meeting after this will be Italy in the spring (on paid work time, how cool is that!)

Wanted a birch on the cards since Umea is known as the city of birch trees, but it's a bit hard to see in this mess. I'll post a finished card when it is just that... finished :).

CCC ribbons and gems

This box is for Creative Card Crew's challenge ribbons and gems this week. Boxes are so versatile but I can't fill it with chocolate this time cause I'm all out (wonder where it all went...)

The ribbon is kinda obvious, the gems are my liquid pearls. Hope it counts :)

For Jaimie

Blog hopping I read about the horrible thing that happened to Jaimie and her family.

Here is some information about what happened:

"On October 4th, 4 teenagers armed with knives broke into a home in a small town in New Hampshire. Alone and sleeping inside were a mother and her 11 year old daughter. These 4 boys broke into this home with the intent to rob and kill anyone inside. They stabbed the mom, Kimberly Cates, to death and left her daughter, Jaimie, for dead in their driveway. It was a completely random act, their home was chosen only due to its secluded surroundings."

Our hope is that everyone hopping around today will stop for a moment and think about Jaimie and her father and what life must be like for them now. One moment in time has changed their lives forever. We are asking that everyone reading this message please take a moment to make a card and send it off to Jaimie. You can make something very simple or much more involved, but please share some words of hope and love and let her know that people do care and want the best for her. Please send your card to the address below:
Jaimie Cates
c/o Mont Vernon Fire Station
Main Street
Mont Vernon, NH 03057
United States

I will send her this card. It's rather simple cause I didn't want it to be a "cutie card" and the colours are much better in reality but my camera didn't approve.
