Two birds...

With this card I didn't just hit two birds with one stone, it's more of a Hitchcock-movie going on ;)

ABC challenge - E is for embossing
Simon says challenge - red and green
The Pink Elephant - dots, punch, tag
Sugar Bowl - a sketch

I had some time on my hands since I didn't have to make dinner this evening. The younger one is a scout and they meet on Wednesdays and today they prepared dinner for all the families so we gathered and had pizza. Really nice!

Simon says stitch it up

Today I made a bookmark using a digital image from Mo's digital pencil. Supercuties! It's about all the energy I have at the moment, work is sort of sucking me dry... I guess all jobs are like that - especially the ones involving contact with other people - some days are good, some are... you know what I mean!

Anyway, Simon says challenge, stitches around, and I'm done.

I have finished my first DT card for Die Cut Dreams as well, but that you'll have to wait for :)

Celebrate!

Yepp, loads of celebration now - my collegue at work has her birthday on Tuesday so I made a box for her - filled with her favourite chocolate fudge. After making it I saw that Just Magnolia has the colour combo pink and grey so without further ado I added the little ladybug (which makes sense since the birthday girl is a Biology teacher) and barabing I can enter the challenge ;).

And then...

Die cut dreams updated their webpage and announced their new Design Team and I'M IN IT!!!

It's so great, I feel so priviledged, and it's a bit scary too since I don't really know what design team members do... but hopefully it will reveal itself :)

I think I'll have to steal one of the chocolates from the box - just to treat myself ;).

Have a great day!

Gift boxes

Today I have two boxes made from Timeless Templates cause my little one is going to a birthday party Thursday for two of her friends. They're getting a Littlest Petshop each and instead of just wrapping it (since the package is of a horrible shape) I made boxes to put them in. Looks a lot nicer now :).

Server down

This is what happens when my World of Warcraft server is down. Took a plain wooden frame and painted it with sand paint, distressed a background paper and made a new sign for the upstairs bathroom. "Oh great", Amanda said, a kitty also so the cats know it's their bathroom too :). Well, if the cats didn't know already their litter box was in there a sign would hardly help...

Sorry for the flash, I'm totally blaming the camera.

A pear...fect day

Hi, used some stamps from the latest Magnolia set to make this card. Nothing fancy and no challenge to connect to. I will have to pull myself together :)

And one of the flowers looks orange in the picture, it's NOT orange. My camera disagrees with me :(

Recipe card holder

Come Friday it's my turn to brighten the coffee break at work. The actual baking I will worry about on Thursday but I made a recipe card holder to put on the table since everyone always asks for recipes regardless :).
I thought this would look a bit more fancy than just heaving out a bunch of copied papers on the table... (The distressed paper is the actual pocket for the recipes)

I'm thinking about Lemon drizzle cake and peanut cookies... we'll see :)

Since it's not a card it's valid for the Magnolia down under challenge this week.

I'm back in b... rown and blue

Creative inspirations wanted brown and blue this week and I found a nice sketch over at Friday sketchers and made this card. I'm gonna enter in NorthernLight Scrappers as well since their theme this month is handmade paper. That works like a charm cause it's drawing paper distressed with faded jeans and frayed burlap, stamped with text and swirls and sprayed with glimmer mist. The piece behind the image is the same paper but I ran it through the wavemakerthingymajigg :).

Here I go again...

This is getting silly, I really have to get back to work now... I'm overloading this blog atm :)

But... Colour create has a combination of ruby, gold and cream and those are gorgeous colours, had to do something about that. So I made a tea bag holder. Very simple and easy but kinda cute to bring as a small gift over to a friend's house. And when I had finished I tilted my head and looked at it... hmmm. The Pink Elephant's recipe this week... would that work? 1 ribbon - check, something sparkly - check, 2 squares ... nope... wait a minute... the bag holders inside the card, they're squares... right? Yeah, that'll do. :)

Signing off now - honestly!

Scrapbooking4you September

Can you tell Amanda is feeling better by my activity? Hehe, she is, and it's back to school tomorrow.
Scrapbooking4you has a new sketch for September and at first I thought "bugger that layout sketch..." but then I remembered a fold I had seen on Splitcoast Stampers and thought it might work.

The green one is the one I sent in, and it was fun enough to make a second one right away! Since I made that pink I might as well send that to the Die cut Dreams DT call as well :)

Truly scrumptious in pink

Amanda's temperature has gone down, only the nasty cough roams the land :)

While she watched her favourite show on Toon Disney I got a chance to rest from playing a nurse and made a card that fits the Die cut Dreams challenge DT call which require pink and the sketch on Truly Scrumptious, yey me :)

Calendar

Still home with Amanda, but she might be well enough to go to school tomorrow...

I discovered that I haven't finished the birthday calendar (where I put down all the birthdays I need to remember - names and year of birth). I had only done January to August. So what better day to do September than the first :)
